The Baltimore City Department of Public Works (DPW) will update residents on work to comply with the Modified Consent Decree for the City’s sewer collection system. The annual meeting to discuss this is 6:00 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 23 at the Maryland Department of the Environment (MDE), 1800 Washington Blvd. in Baltimore. The meeting is free and the public is encouraged to attend.
Baltimore City Department of Public Works (DPW) Director Rudolph S. Chow, P.E., reminds everyone that Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, Monday, January 20, 2020, is a City holiday.
When our region goes through freeze and thaw cycles, especially when accompanied by heavy rain, the ground shifts and pipes break. Yesterday, we had over 25 broken mains to repair using our DPW crews and contractors for the work. As some mains were repaired, others broke, often many miles away. We kept at the repair work all night long.
Public Works Director Rudolph S. Chow, P.E., reminds everyone that when you recycle holiday paper and packaging, you contribute to a sustainable and cleaner environment.
