DPW Offices, Sanitation Yards Closed Memorial Day Holiday, Monday, May 26, 2025

The Baltimore City Department of Public Works (DPW) Director Khalil Zaied reminds residents that Memorial Day will be observed on Monday, May 26, 2025. As a City-observed holiday, DPW offices and sanitation yards will be CLOSED on that day. The Memorial Day closure will NOT impact weekly trash and recycling collections, as Monday is not a regularly scheduled curbside collection day. Mechanical street sweeping will be suspended on the holiday.

The Baltimore City Department of Public Works (DPW) has reopened the walking loop around Druid Lake, signaling the near completion of a historic infrastructure project to enclose and protect one of the City’s major drinking water facilities. The reopening of the loop this spring invites residents back to enjoy one of Baltimore’s most scenic and treasured destinations—the iconic Druid Hill Park, often referred to as the City’s version of Central Park.

DPW to Close Reedbird Residential Recycling Center May 17 to Prepare for Start of Facility Modernization Project
