Although the recent weeks’ heavy rains have tested local sewer systems, the Baltimore City Department of Public Works (DPW) is making progress on major projects to improve its sewer infrastructure and continues to encourage residents to take steps to keep their drains clean.

DPW Reports Eight Sewer Overflows Related to Weekend Heavy Rain

The Baltimore City Department of Public Works (DPW) estimates that overflows of over 10,000 gallons of stormwater occurred at eight (8) locations, as a result of the heavy rains on Sunday, June 3.

Baltimore City Department of Public Works (DPW) Director Rudolph S. Chow, P.E, announced the selection of Rollin Weeks Jr. as its 2017-2018 DPW Employee of the Year. The awards ceremony was held Thursday morning, May 24, in the War Memorial Building in downtown Baltimore.
