DPW Reports Sanitary Sewer Overflows

The Baltimore City Department of Public Works estimates that over 2.3 million gallons of storm water combined with wastewater overflowed into the Jones Falls Jones Falls between 6:00 p.m. and 11 p.m. Sunday, February 4.  The cause of these overflows was wet weather infiltration of the sewer mains.

DPW Walks Public Through Plan to Eliminate Sewer Overflows

At the first Annual Meeting to inform the public about the City’s progress under the Modified Consent Decree, Department of Public Works Director Rudolph S. Chow, P.E., assured community members that DPW is committed to eliminating sewer overflows.

 

DPW Environmental Police Urge Public to Avoid Icy Reservoirs

Reservoir visitors are urged to be safe when standing or walking near the reservoirs, especially during snow and ice conditions. The Environmental Police warn that during icy conditions, iced-over bodies of water may look safe, but could be a tragedy waiting to happen. Reservoirs have fluctuating water levels, making any ice covering them unstable and dangerous.

DPW Reports Sanitary Sewer Overflow

The Baltimore City Department of Public Works estimates that over 10,000 gallons of wastewater overflowed into the Jones Falls beginning Wednesday, January 17 ending after 1:00 p.m. today, January 19.  The cause of this overflow is being determined.
