DPW Announces Make-Up Schedules for This Week’s    Trash and Recycling Cancellations

Baltimore City Department of Public Works Acting Director Matthew W. Garbark announced today the make-up days for trash and recycling collections cancelled on Thursday, February 18, and Friday, February 19 due to this week’s inclement weather.

  • Thursday, February 18 trash and recycling collections will be picked up on Monday, February 22.
  • Trash and recycling scheduled for today, Friday, February 19, will be collected Friday, February 26 along with the regularly scheduled trash and recycling collections.

DPW Cancels Friday’s Trash, Recycling Collections Department Will Announce Make-Up Days Tomorrow

Trash and recycling collections will be cancelled on Friday, February 19, due to icy alleys and roadways, Baltimore City Department of Public Works (DPW) Acting Director Matthew W. Garbark has announced.“The City’s alleyways remain quite slick and any melting will likely refreeze overnight. These conditions make collection of trash and recyclables dangerously difficult  for sanitation workers,” said Acting Director Garbark.

DPW Cancels Thursday’s Trash, Recycling Collections Make-Up Day: Saturday, February 20

With snow in the forecast, the Baltimore City Department of Public Works (DPW) Acting Director Matthew W. Garbark has announced the cancellation of trash and recycling collections for Thursday, February 18. The make-up day for the Thursday collection cancellation is Saturday, February 20.

DPW to Close Community Collection Centers for Recycling Last Day of Operation: Saturday, February 13

Today, Baltimore City Department of Public Works (DPW) Acting Director Matthew W. Garbark announced that the Department will discontinue the operation of the Community Collection Centers located in each of the City’s 14 Council Districts. The last day for residents to drop off recycling at a Community Collection Center is Saturday, February 13.

City Holiday: Presidents' Day Monday, February 15 DPW Yards, Offices Are Closed

Baltimore City Department of Public Works (DPW) Acting Director Matthew W. Garbark reminds residents that Presidents' Day, Monday, February 15, 2021, is a City holiday.  DPW offices and sanitation yards will be CLOSED. Monday, February 15, is not a scheduled trash or recycling collection day.

Garbark announced that the Department will cancel routine trash and recycling collections for Tuesday, February 2, 2021, due to the inclement weather and icy conditions of many alleys throughout Baltimore City as a result of Winter Storm Orlena. Tuesday’s collections will be made up on Saturday, February 6, 2021.
