Water Billing Programs to Assist Residents

Baltimore Mayor Catherine E. Pugh has approved the waiver of late fees on water bills for furloughed federal employees and affected contractors who are customers of the Baltimore City water system.

Federal workers /Contractors Affected by the Furlough can:

  • Visit the DPW Walk-in Center, Abel Wolman Building, 200 Holliday Street, Room 8.  Bring furlough letter and Federal ID as proof of employment and complete the affidavit. You may discuss options of abatement of late fees and /or payment plan with staff.
  • Send a copy of the affidavit and a copy of the furlough letter to DPW Customer Support and Services Division, 200 Holliday St., First Floor, Room 8, Baltimore, MD 21202.
  • Click here to download the affidavit, complete and sign and send back to the above address with furlough letter making a request of abatement of late fees and /or payment plan. You must include your phone and email to be contacted by staff.

The Baltimore City Department of Public Works offers several programs to assist qualifying Baltimore City customers who need bill adjustments, payment plans, or financial assistance; as well as provide credits and fee exemptions for financial hardship.
