Thanksgiving Day Holiday

BALTIMORE, MD (November 25, 2013) - Director Alfred H. Foxx reminds everyone that Thanksgiving Day is a City holiday. Department of Public Works’ offices and yards will be CLOSED on Thursday, November 28, 2013, a holiday.

 

THANKSGIVING DAY


  • Trash and recycling will NOT be collected.  
  • Saturday, November 30, 2013 will be the make-up collection day for trash and recycling in those areas that are regularly scheduled for collection on Thursday.   
  • NO bulk trash collections are scheduled.  
  • Drop-off centers and yards WILL BE CLOSED (all yards, including Quarantine Road Landfill, the Northwest Transfer Station and the Eastern, Western and Northwest Citizen Convenience Centers).
  • Mechanical street sweeping will NOT take place.  
  • Parking meters will NOT be in effect.

Mayor Brandon M. TODAY, Friday Aug. 9: DPW Cancels ALL Solid Waste Services---Recycling, Trash, Street Sweeping, Landfill Operations Suspended and Drop-off Centers Closed

Due to the extended tornado watch issued for the Baltimore area by the National Weather Service, the Baltimore City Department of Public Works (DPW) is cancelling ALL Solid Waste services today, Friday, August 9. In addition to the suspension of trash and recycling collections and mechanical street sweeping services, DPW is suspending operations at the Quarantine Road Landfill and at the Northwest Transfer Station and closing all Residential Drop-Off Centers.

Due to weather advisories issued by the National Weather Service, the Baltimore City Department of Public Works (DPW) is cancelling all trash and recycling collections and mechanical street sweeping services on Friday, August 9, 2024. The trash and recycling make-up day will be Monday, August 12.
