The City of Baltimore Department of Public Works is accepting public review and comments on this project’s application for a redevelopment waiver. If granted, the project will still need to provide water qualitative controls, per the requirements of the State’s Design Manual.

Project Description: The project has an approximate area of 1.81 acres and is located near the Intersection of Hurley Avenue and Wilkens Avenue. This project is for the replacement of the Wilkens Avenue Bridge over Gwynns Falls.    

The Applicant is requesting a redevelopment waiver in accordance with Article 7, §23-7 of the City Code.  The existing impervious area coverage meets the conditions for this waiver.  The project will maintain existing hydrological conditions to satisfy the requirements of this waiver for this project. 

The Applicant will satisfy the reconstruction water quality controls for this project by payment of fee-in-lieu of on-site stormwater management for 6,843 square feet of impervious surface for this project.
