DPW’s Labor Day Closures and Service Interruptions

BALTIMORE MD:  Baltimore City Department of Public Works (DPW) Director Rudolph S. Chow, P.E., reminds residents that Labor Day is a City holiday and that DPW offices will be closed Monday, September 7, 2015.

  • NO TRASH AND RECYCLING COLLECTION: Mondays are not regular curbside trash and recycling collection days in Baltimore City.
  • DPW’s YARDS CLOSED: All Citizen Convenience Centers WILL BE CLOSED, including Quarantine Road Landfill.
  • MECHANICAL STREET SWEEPING: There will be no Mechanical Street Sweeping on Labor Day.
  • BULK TRASH: There will be no bulk trash collection scheduled on Labor Day.
  • PARKING METERS: Parking meters will NOT be in effect on Labor Day.
  • SPECIAL NOTE: The last day for extended summer hours at the Solid Waste drop off centers is, Saturday, September 4. After Labor Day the hours will be 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Mayor Brandon M. TODAY, Friday Aug. 9: DPW Cancels ALL Solid Waste Services---Recycling, Trash, Street Sweeping, Landfill Operations Suspended and Drop-off Centers Closed

Due to the extended tornado watch issued for the Baltimore area by the National Weather Service, the Baltimore City Department of Public Works (DPW) is cancelling ALL Solid Waste services today, Friday, August 9. In addition to the suspension of trash and recycling collections and mechanical street sweeping services, DPW is suspending operations at the Quarantine Road Landfill and at the Northwest Transfer Station and closing all Residential Drop-Off Centers.

Due to weather advisories issued by the National Weather Service, the Baltimore City Department of Public Works (DPW) is cancelling all trash and recycling collections and mechanical street sweeping services on Friday, August 9, 2024. The trash and recycling make-up day will be Monday, August 12.
