Delayed Arrival: DPW’s 2022 CALENDAR

The Baltimore City Department of Public Works’ (DPW) 2022 calendar is expected to begin arriving in residents’ mailboxes in February. The highly popular calendar has been a City of Baltimore tradition for more than a decade.

DPW Holiday Schedule: X-Mas Tree Mulching & Curbside Collection Start Trash, Recycling Will be Collected on New Year’s Eve

DPW will offer free Christmas tree mulching services to Baltimore City residents from Monday, January 3, 2022through Saturday, February 5, 2022.  Tree mulching is a drop-off event.  Residents must bring their trees to the Northwest Residential Drop-off  Center, located at 2840 Sisson Street, from 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m., Monday through Saturday.  For residents who cannot bring their tree for mulching, DPW will offer curbside tree collection starting now through February 5.

HOLIDAY SCHEDULE: DPW Offices CLOSED on Christmas and New Year’s Eves Trash, Recycling Will be Collected on Christmas, New Year’s Eves

On Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve, trash and recycling collections will take place on their normal Friday schedule. DPW’s Sanitation Yards will remain OPEN on Christmas and New Year’s Eves.

DPW to Hold Virtual Public Meeting to Provide Updates on City’s Modified Sanitary Consent Decree

On Thursday, January 20, 2022, the Baltimore City Department of Public Works (DPW) will hold its Annual Consent Decree Public Information Session, which will be held virtually beginning at 6 p.m.

Baltimore City Department of Public Works (DPW) Director Jason W. Mitchell reminds residents that Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 25, 2021, is a City holiday.  DPW offices, yards and Residential Drop-Off Centers will be CLOSED.  Trash and recycling collections scheduled for Thursday will be collected on the make-up day, Saturday, November 27.

Celebrate America Recycles Day! Attend DPW’s Recycling Fair: Monday, November 15!

Come celebrate with DPW! In celebration of America Recycles Day, the Baltimore City Department of Public Works (DPW) is hosting a Recycling Fair, a fun-filled afternoon of music, food, recycle-right games, and information. The Recycling Fair will take place Monday, November 15, from 3 p.m.-6 p.m. on the corner of Francis Street and N. Fulton Avenue, next to DPW's Park Terminal Building.

Mitchell reminds residents that Veterans Day, Thursday, November 11, 2021, is a City holiday.  DPW offices, yards and Residential Drop-Off Centers will be CLOSED. Trash collections scheduled for Thursday, will be collected on the make-up day, Saturday, November 13.

 

Mayor Scott, DPW Remind Residents to Call 311 to Register for the Fall Cleanup

Mayor Brandon M. Scott and Baltimore City Department of Public Works (DPW) Director Jason Mitchell remind City residents to come out for the Mayor’s Fall Cleanup on Saturday, October 23, 2021! For this citywide day of cleaning, residents are encouraged to “Clean Where You Live” by putting on a mask and picking up a broom to clean up loose litter around their properties and alleyways.

DPW Responds to MDE

The Baltimore City Department of Public Works (DPW) is committed to being a protector of our environment and the health and vitality of the waterways that serve our communities. This summer, MDE’s inspectors issued notices of reported violations that included mostly reporting and business process concerns, as well as some violations regarding the Back River’s and Patapsco’s National Pollution Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permits. DPW has corrected the reporting and business process violations, which includes implementing corrective measures regarding the MDE report.
