Mayor Scott , DPW Director Mitchell Announce Launch of Paperless Water Billing Option

Today, Mayor Brandon M. Scott and Baltimore City Department of Public Works (DPW) Director Jason W. Mitchell, Ed.D., announced that Baltimore City residents now have the option to sign up for paperless water billing rather than receive a monthly bill in the mail. In addition, DPW will implement PromisePay, a new payment plan program designed to assist residents who have fallen behind with their water bill payments.

DPW is Now Accepting Public Comment to Modified Sanitary Sewer Consent Decree Phase II Plan Report 

The Modified Consent Decree Phase II Plan Report has officially been released by the Baltimore City Department of Public Works (DPW) and is posted on the DPW Website for review and comment in accordance with the Modified Sanitary Sewer Consent Decree (MCD). 

Baltimore City Department of Public Works Details Months of Progress at Back River as the Consent Order Extends

The Baltimore City Department of Public Works (“DPW”)  has announced key improvements made at the Back River Wastewater Treatment Plant (“WWTP”) over the past eight months. The Consent Order and Revised Directive extension, issued by the Maryland Department of the Environment (“MDE”) to build on the collaborative efforts of DPW and the Maryland Environmental Service (“MES”) and to ensure continued compliance at Back River, has been extended through April 30, 2023.

Baltimore City Department of Public Works (DPW) will hold its Annual Consent Decree Public Information Session on Thursday, January 19, 2023beginning at 6 p.m. at 1800 Washington Blvd., the Maryland Department of Environment (MDE) headquarters in Baltimore.
