Scammers may call you on the phone or come to your home, claiming to be from DPW, and request money. This is a scam, and the Department of Public Works does not make collections in this manner.
Baltimore City Department of Public Works Acting Director Matthew W. Garbark today released DPW’s COVID-19 Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) to citizens. This list contains information specific to DPW including information on solid waste, and water and sewer services available during this time.

In response to the evolving conditions related to the threat of COVID-19 and to ensure the safety of the public and of our employees, Baltimore City Department of Public Works (DPW) Acting Director Matthew W. Garbark announced that the following will take effect Monday, March 23, 2020.
Acting Baltimore City Department of Public Works Director, Matthew W. Garbark, today reminded citizens not to flush items down the toilet that do not belong there. "I realize that we are especially concerned about disinfection and proper disposal of used facial tissues. That is admirable. But disinfectant wipes, tissues, paper towels and 'flushable wipes' DO NOT belong in the toilet.”
