EPA to Provide WIFIA Loans Totaling $396 Million To Modernize Baltimore’s Water Infrastructure

Today, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) announced $396 million in Water Infrastructure Finance and Innovation Act (WIFIA) financing to the City of Baltimore. EPA’s WIFIA program will help fund projects to modernize water infrastructure across the City, focusing on supporting low-income communities and communities of color.

DPW Announces Modifications to Recycling Collections: Department Shifts to Bi-Weekly Collections, Effective Jan. 18

Baltimore City Department of Public Works (DPW) Director Jason W. Mitchell announced modifications to the City’s recycling collection operations designed to bring stability and predictability to routes impacted by delays in recent weeks. Beginning next week, January 18, 2022, DPW will move to bi-weekly collections for recycling, using an alternating A and B cycle system for curbside collection services.

Weather Conditions, Positive COVID-19 Cases Contribute to Trash, Recycling Collections Delays Additional Solid Waste Services Impacted

The Department of Public Works (DPW) thanks residents for their patience as we continue to work through operational challenges presented by the rise in positive COVID-19 cases and today’s winter weather impacts. DPW may have some challenges servicing trash or recycling pick-ups scheduled for tomorrow, Tuesday, January 4.
