DPW Announces Free Paper Shredding Event

Baltimore City Department of Public Works Acting Director Matthew W. Garbark today announced that DPW will offer free paper shredding for Baltimore City residents on Saturday, July 25, 2020. The event will be held from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. on the parking lot of the Baltimore Polytechnic Institute (“Poly” High School), 1400 W. Coldspring Lane.

Please! No Household Trash in Corner Cans, Median Strips & Public Rights of- Way

Today, Baltimore City Department of Public Works Acting Director Matthew W. Garbark reminds City residents and businesses that corner cans are not for household or business trash. These cans are for pedestrian litter only. Placing household trash in public corner cans results in overflowing cans and rodent problems.

HOUSEHOLD HAZARDOUS WASTE DROP-OFF DAYS, JULY 10-11

Baltimore City Department of Public Works Acting Director Matthew W. Garbark today reminds citizens that the Household Hazardous Waste Drop-Off event for July will occur on Friday and Saturday, July 10 and 11.  This is a correction to the dates noted in the 2020 DPW Calendar. The event will be held from 9:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. on both days, July 10 and 11, at the Northwest Citizens' Convenience Center, located at 2840 Sisson Street.

Broken Water Main Causes Clay-Colored Plume near the Canton Waterfront Park

Baltimore City Department of Public Works (DPW) Acting Director Matthew W. Garbark announced today that a broken water main is contributing to the plume of clay-colored water in the Harbor area around the Canton Waterfront Park.

REMINDER: JULY 4 HOLIDAY NOTICE

Citizens are reminded that DPW offices are closed on Friday, July 3 in observance of Independence Day. However, curbside collections will occur as normal on Friday, July 3. This is a correction to the dates noted in the 2020 DPW Calendar. The following DPW Solid Waste yards are open on July 3:

DPW HOLIDAY REMINDER: NO SWIMMING AT CITY-OWNED RESERVOIRS

With a long holiday weekend ahead, Baltimore City Department of Public Works (DPW) Acting Director Matthew W. Garbark, has issued a reminder to the public that swimming is not allowed in City reservoirs. A tragic drowning occurred this week at the City-owned Liberty Reservoir. Already this year, several drownings and emergency rescues have been reported in other parts of the State.
