The City of Baltimore Department of Public Works is accepting public review and comments on this project’s application for a redevelopment and a quantitative control waiver. If granted, the project will still need to provide water qualitative controls, per the requirements of the State’s Design Manual.

Project Description: The Baltimore Processing Center (BPC) is an industrial site located at 5800 Chemical Road in southwest Baltimore City on the shore of Curtis Creek (tidal waters). The site is developed including several large warehouse type buildings, paved parking, and an existing stormwater management wet pond.  The existing and proposed use is for waste transfer and recycling operations.  The owner/applicant is pursuing a project that converts existing grass area to gravel storage area. The project area is 3.22 acres.

The Applicant is requesting a redevelopment waiver in accordance with Article 7, §23-1 and §23-7 of the City Code.  The location of the project and the existing impervious area coverage meets the conditions for this waiver.  The project will provide water quality controls to satisfy the requirements of this waiver for 3.22 ac project.
