Baltimore City Department of Public Works (DPW) Director Jason W. Mitchell reminds residents that Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Monday, January 17, 2022, is a City holiday. DPW offices and sanitation yards will be CLOSED. Monday, January 17 is not a scheduled trash or recycling collections’ day.

DPW Announces Modifications to Recycling Collections: Department Shifts to Bi-Weekly Collections, Effective Jan. 18

Baltimore City Department of Public Works (DPW) Director Jason W. Mitchell announced modifications to the City’s recycling collection operations designed to bring stability and predictability to routes impacted by delays in recent weeks. Beginning next week, January 18, 2022, DPW will move to bi-weekly collections for recycling, using an alternating A and B cycle system for curbside collection services.

Weather Conditions, Positive COVID-19 Cases Contribute to Trash, Recycling Collections Delays Additional Solid Waste Services Impacted

The Department of Public Works (DPW) thanks residents for their patience as we continue to work through operational challenges presented by the rise in positive COVID-19 cases and today’s winter weather impacts. Delayed Arrival: DPW’s 2022 CALENDAR

The Baltimore City Department of Public Works’ (DPW) 2022 calendar is expected to begin arriving in residents’ mailboxes in February. The highly popular calendar has been a City of Baltimore tradition for more than a decade.

DPW Holiday Schedule: X-Mas Tree Mulching & Curbside Collection Start Trash, Recycling Will be Collected on New Year’s Eve

DPW will offer free Christmas tree mulching services to Baltimore City residents from Monday, January 3, 2022through Saturday, February 5, 2022.  Tree mulching is a drop-off event.  Residents must bring their trees to the Northwest Residential Drop-off  Center, located at 2840 Sisson Street, from 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m., Monday through Saturday.  For residents who cannot bring their tree for mulching, DPW will offer curbside tree collection starting now through February 5.
