Rain Contributes to Sewer Overflows on Monday and Tuesday

Rains in the Baltimore area earlier this week contributed to sanitary sewer overflows of 8.3 million gallons of stormwater mixed with sewer water into the Jones Falls from locations on Preston Street and on Falls Road; and into the Harbor from Eager Street and Chase Street.

Friday Storms Lead to Sewer Overflows

The heavy rains in the Baltimore area on Friday, Nov. 2, contributed to a sanitary sewer overflow of 917,000 gallons of stormwater mixed with sewer water into the Jones Falls near Preston Street.

DPW Director Chow Issues Statement of Support for U.S. Senate Bill to Help Families With Water Costs

United States Sens. Ben Cardin (D-Md.) and Roger Wicker (R-Miss.) introduced Oct. 10, 2018, a bill (the Low-Income Water Customer Assistance Programs Act of 2018, S. 3564) to establish 32 nationwide pilot programs to provide low-income residents with financial assistance to pay their water and sewer bills.
