New COVID-19 Restrictions for Reservoirs

On Thursday, December 10, Mayor Brandon Scott issued an Executive Order to increase efforts to control the spread of COVID-19 by limiting large gatherings and continuing to encourage social distancing. 

To further support the Mayor’s Executive Order, the Baltimore City Department of Public Works (DPW) Acting Director Matthew W. Garbark today announced restrictions at the three City-owned reservoirs located in Baltimore County: Liberty, Prettyboy, and Loch Raven.

DPW Gets Bond Rating Upgrade from Moodys

Today, Acting Director Matthew W. Garbark announced that the Baltimore City Department of Public Works (DPW) received an upgrade to its water utility credit rating by Moody’s from Aa3 to Aa2, enabling the Department to proceed with issuance of bonds for its water utility projects.

DPW Statement: COVID-19 Employee Death

Today, Baltimore City Department of Public Works (DPW) Acting Director Matthew W. Garbark issued the following statement regarding the death of a DPW employee due to COVID-19:  “I am saddened to announce the death of a long-time DPW employee due to COVID-19. Mr. Charles Johnson, a Plant Operations Supervisor at the Patapsco Wastewater Treatment Plant, tested positive for COVID-19 at the beginning of November, and spent the last two weeks hospitalized in an intensive care unit.
