Applications are now being accepted for Care-A-Lot Program grants. Care-A-Lot is a city-led BMORE Beautiful initiative that supports innovative community groups and organizations who want to clean, mow, maintain and beautify vacant lots in Baltimore City.
The Northwest Transfer Station, 5330 Reisterstown Road, will be CLOSED for needed renovations to the scale house. This will begin on Monday, February 18, 2019. Anticipated reopening of the facility will be Monday, March 4, 2019.
Public and private-sector stakeholders – including environmental advocates; representatives from city businesses, schools, and hospitals; and those who live and work across the city – are among those who will have a chance to weigh in on the “Less Waste, Better Baltimore” Recycling and Solid Waste Management Master Plan.

As Baltimore braces for a week of freezing temperatures and a predicted mixed-bag of precipitation on Tuesday, DPW crews are busy repairing broken water mains. Extreme temperatures, and the resulting freezing and thawing activity, leads to an increase in water main breaks and leaks.
With the Baltimore City Department of Public Works' (DPW) new interactive map, information on sanitary sewer overflows will be posted as soon as it is known. There will be no waiting for press releases or social media updates to obtain this important public health information.
