Resident Advisory Council

Less Waste Better Baltimore: Rethinking Our Waste Management Future

DPW Director Jason W. Mitchell is pleased to launch the Department’s first-ever   Residential Advisory Council. Members of the new Residential Advisory Council (RAC) will provide the Department with community-based input and guidance on key DPW operations.

In addition to providing input and ideas regarding solid waste, water, and wastewater policies and services, the Advisory Council will collaborate with DPW leadership on solutions to long-standing issues involving waste and blight.

Membership

The RAC will be comprised of approximately 14 Baltimore City residents, representing each Council District and 6 representatives from DPW and other agencies with a cross section of community-based interests. This will include neighborhood associations, vulnerable populations, businesses, faith-based and educational institutions.

Director Mitchell will chair the RAC and will be supported by Division Chiefs from DPW’s Bureau of Solid Waste and Bureau of Water and Wastewater. Representatives from other City Departments will be invited to serve as Ad Hoc Advisory Members at the request of the RAC.
