BALTIMORE, MD (April 25, 2013) – Director Alfred H. Foxx today announced that Baltimore businesses, agencies and institutions can sign up for Clean Your Files Day. The event will be held on Tuesday, May 21, 2013.

Clean Your Files Day is focused on promoting workplace recycling. Instead of throwing away old files, the Department of Public Works (DPW) encourages businesses, government agencies and non-profit organizations to take a more sustainable approach to managing waste through recycling. Clean Your Files Day is another event in the Department’s “Drive to 35 Campaign” to increase Baltimore City’s recycling rate to 35%.

Interested parties located within the City of Baltimore, are invited to take part. Participants must call or email to register by Tuesday May 7, 3013. Place old files in paper bags, boxes, recycle bins or marked containers, and DPW’s Bureau of Solid Waste will come by on May 21st to collect all of your materials. Any participant located in the downtown area will have their material collected by the downtown night crew; all materials must be set out by 6 p.m. All participants outside of the Downtown area will receive pickup during the day on May 21st; those materials must be set out by 8 a.m.
