The Baltimore City Department of Public Works (DPW) will host “In the Works Live!,” a half-day, in-person symposium where DPW leadership and experts will discuss the state of the department and provide insight on the latest solid waste and water and wastewater issues facing the agency.

The “In the Works Live” event will take place at Baltimore’s Lexington Market on Thursday, May 18 from 11:00 am to 2 pm (ET). The event will be held in the Baltimore Room on the second floor of Lexington Market, which is located at 112 N. Eutaw St., Baltimore, Md. 21201.

During the “In the Works Live” symposium, DPW’s senior leaders will discuss a range of topics including recycling, customer service improvement, illegal dumping, wastewater compliance and proposed PFAS regulations.

Under the leadership of Director Jason W. Mitchell, Ed.D., DPW has launched a Resident Advisory Council and the BMore LOVE Volunteer Initiative, improved standards for customer support services, centered equity through the PromisePay and Water4All payment assistance programs and addressed an array of issues from sinkholes to recycling.

“I urge Baltimore City residents and the water customers that we serve throughout the Baltimore region to join us for the 'In the Works Live' symposium. There will be an exemplary lineup of DPW leaders who will share their expertise. I look forward to continuing to engage with and learn from our community,” Director Mitchell said.

“From keeping Baltimore’s drinking water safe to keeping our streets clean, we’re here to serve the community and it’s important that we show up in the community as well. We encourage all those interested to learn more about what we do to attend.”

This meeting is free and open to the public. However, advanced registration is encouraged. To register for the meeting, please use the following Eventbrite link: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/in-the-works-a-dpw-symposium-live-tickets-634775399307
