New Year's Day Holiday:  DPW Offices, Yards Closed on January 1, 2019
Recycling/Trash Makeup Day is Saturday, January 5, 2019

New Year's Day is a City holiday; the Baltimore City Department of Public Works’ (DPW) offices and yards will be closed on Tuesday, January 1. DPW offices and facilities are open New Year's Eve, and trash and recycling collections will occur as scheduled on December 31.

Saturday, January 5, 2019, will be the makeup collection day for trash and recycling in those areas that are regularly scheduled for collection on Tuesday.

New Year's Day:

Trash and recycling will NOT be collected.

NO bulk trash collections are scheduled.

Citizen drop-off centers WILL BE CLOSED (all yards, including Quarantine Road Landfill, the Northwest Transfer Station and the Eastern, Western and Northwest Collections Facilities).

Mechanical street sweeping will NOT take place, and street sweeping signs will NOT be in effect.

Parking meters will NOT be in effect.

Mayor Brandon M. TODAY, Friday Aug. 9: DPW Cancels ALL Solid Waste Services---Recycling, Trash, Street Sweeping, Landfill Operations Suspended and Drop-off Centers Closed

Due to the extended tornado watch issued for the Baltimore area by the National Weather Service, the Baltimore City Department of Public Works (DPW) is cancelling ALL Solid Waste services today, Friday, August 9. In addition to the suspension of trash and recycling collections and mechanical street sweeping services, DPW is suspending operations at the Quarantine Road Landfill and at the Northwest Transfer Station and closing all Residential Drop-Off Centers.

Due to weather advisories issued by the National Weather Service, the Baltimore City Department of Public Works (DPW) is cancelling all trash and recycling collections and mechanical street sweeping services on Friday, August 9, 2024. The trash and recycling make-up day will be Monday, August 12.
