The City of Baltimore Department of Public Works is accepting public review and comments on this project’s application for a redevelopment waiver.

Project Description: The project has an approximate area of 3.59 acres and is located in the southeast corner of The Johns Hopkins University Homewood Campus, at 3200 N. Charles Street. The site area includes the recently razed Mattin Center and Whitehead Hall buildings. The project will ultimately consist of a new Student Center for the Homewood Campus. This phase of the project primarily includes utility relocation, mass excavation in preparation of the new building construction, and construction of a underground stormwater storage facility.

The Applicant is requesting a redevelopment waiver in accordance with Article 7, §23-7 of the City Code.  The existing impervious area coverage meets the conditions for this waiver.  This phase of the project will provide water quality controls through the removal of impervious area to satisfy the requirements of this waiver. Removal includes a net reduction of 1.79 acres of impervious area.
