Application for Waiver

The City of Baltimore Department of Public Works is accepting public review and comments on this project’s application for a waiver to the Baltimore City Stormwater Management Ordinance 10-277. The applicant must provide stormwater management for the proposed project whether or not the waiver is granted.

Applicant: Mr. Mark S. Rice, Maritime Applied Physics Corp. 1852 Frankfurst Avenue Baltimore, MD 21226

Project Description: MAPC is proposing to construct two building additions, totaling approximately 16,050 square feet, to the existing building on this site, plus the removal of 19,920 square feet of existing paving and replacement with landscaping .

The Applicant is requesting a Quantitative Control Waiver in accordance with Section 23-1(A) and §23-1-(3) of the City Code. The Applicant has demonstrated through engineering studies that Environmental Site Design has been implemented to the maximum extent practicable and that the project will be providing removal of impervious area.

In addition, the Applicant is requesting a Qualitative Control Waiver in accordance Section 23-2(2) of the City Code. The Applicant has demonstrated through engineering studies that the project will result in only a minor increase in the discharge rates for the predevelopment runoff condition. Further, the Applicant has demonstrated through engineering studies that Environmental Site Design has been implemented to the maximum extent practicable and that the project will be providing removal of impervious area and by providing landscaping.
