The City of Baltimore Department of Public Works is accepting public review and comments on this project’s application for a waiver to the Baltimore City Stormwater Management Ordinance 10-277. The applicant must provide Stormwater management for the proposed project whether or not the waiver is granted.

Project Description: CSX Transportation, Inc. is proposing to construct a concrete storage pad, maintenance building addition, access road, bulkhead, storm drain system and dust suppression water system on the existing industrial site. Implementation of Environmental Site Design to the Maximum Extent Possible is proposed through use of a rainwater harvesting system, which will detain and filter the runoff from the 25-yr, 24-hour design storm event over the entire site improvement area, which exceeds the Environmental Site Design requirement to detain and filter the first inch of runoff from this area.

This project qualifies for the Quantitative control waiver under §23-1-(A) of the Baltimore City SWM Ordinance. Environmental Site Design on this site was implemented to the Maximum Extent Practicable by providing rainwater harvesting and has direct discharge of stormwater to Tidal Waters.
