Application for Redevelopment Waiver
The City of Baltimore Department of Public Works is accepting public review and comments on this project’s application for a Redevelopment waiver. If granted, the waiver would allow the construction of this project to be governed by the rules and requirements of to Baltimore City’s Ordinance 10-277.
Applicant: Baltimore City Department of Transportation, 7 E. Redwood Street, Baltimore, MD 21202
Project Description: This project is located in Northeast part of Baltimore City. The limit of York road rehabilitation work is from 43rd Street to Glenwood Avenue. The total distance is 0.91miles. The proposed improvements include:
• Asphalt Milling and overlaying of the existing roadway
• Base repairs wherever necessary.
• Sidewalks, Curb and Gutters, Driveways, Bus Pads replacement wherever necessary.
• Traffic Signal replacement at York Road and E. Cold Spring Lane Intersection, New Pedestrian Signals installation. Provisions of 16” Brick band in some portion of Sidewalks south of this intersection.
• Upgrading existing sidewalk ramps to comply with current ADA standards.
• Total of 380’ Median of 8’ wide construction on York Road in between 43rd and Northway.
• Construction of bump outs.
• Pedestrian Light pole installation in both sides.
• Street Light pole replacement.
• New Tree pits, Planters, Trees, Shrub in median and sidewalks.
• Pavement Striping and Marking
• Maintenance of traffic during construction
• Erosion and Sediment Control.
• Provision of Trash Receptacles and Benches.
The Applicant is requesting a Redevelopment Waiver in accordance with Section 23-7(C)(3) of the City Code. The project meets the requirements of reduction of impervious area of at least 50% of the site’s existing impervious area within the limits of disturbance.
