DPW Releases Draft Solid Waste Master Plan

The draft “Less Waste, Better Baltimore” Solid Waste Management Master Plan is now available online for public comment and review. The plan outlines a vision for improving solid waste diversion, recycling, and disposal in Baltimore City.

Public and private-sector stakeholders, including environmental advocates; representatives from City businesses, schools, and hospitals; and those who live and work in the City are invited to review, share and comment on the draft master plan. 

The draft Less Waste, Better Baltimore Master Plan is available online at DPW’s “Less Waste, Better Baltimore”  webpage. Click here to visit the webpage.  Questions and comments may be made to lesswaste@baltimorecity.gov.  The comment period ends at the close of business on Friday, June 12.

 Concerns and/or questions submitted on or before June 12 will be responded to during the Virtual Community Meeting, scheduled for Friday, June 19 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.  All are invited to join the meeting via WebEx or by watching the simulcast on CharmTV. 

During the meeting, DPW will present an overview of the draft master plan, respond to concerns and answer questions submitted in advance of the meeting. Please note that there will be no live questions/comments during the meeting.

DPW Announces Passing of Solid Waste Worker

The Baltimore City Department of Public Works (DPW) is heartbroken to announce the loss of a dedicated member of our Bureau of Solid Waste, Timothy Cartwell, a solid waste worker assigned to the Reedbird Sanitation Yard. His passing is a profound loss for our agency, and we extend our deepest condolences to his family, loved ones, and colleagues.
