First Ever Mass Cleanup of the Gwynns Run
Tuesday Mar 19th, 2013
WHAT: A press briefing to kick-off the first-ever Gwynns Run cleanup. The mission is to clean and remove visible trash and debris on the surface of the water and the outer banks through a coordinated effort led by the Baltimore City Department of Public Works (DPW).
The Gwynns Run in Carroll Park is a recipient of large amounts of trash and debris from storm drain outfalls. This trash, if not removed, eventually makes its way to the harbor and the Chesapeake.
WHO: Public Works Director Alfred H. Foxx, joined by Parks and People and other City officials.
WHEN: Friday, March 22, 2012, 7:45 a.m. – 8:15 a.m.
WHERE: At the confluence of the Gwynns Run and Gwynns Falls behind the Carroll Park Golf Course. Press should meet Public Works staff at the Gwynns Falls Trail entrance sign, located off of Washington Blvd., just north of the 95-S entrance ramp. Press should arrive at that location at 7:30 and will be escorted back to the site.
