Just before sunrise this morning, an incident occurred during a routine water main repair resulting in damage to a gas main. While DPW crews were working to fix a broken 10-inch water main, a section of asphalt dislodged and fell on the gas line. This has resulted in some service interruptions to gas and water customers in portions of southwest Baltimore.

The water outage is affecting the 300, 400 & 500 blocks of Millington Avenue from Frederick Avenue to Wilkens Avenue and also the 2500 block of Ashton Street between Millington Avenue and Catherine Street. There are approximately 100 homes impacted by the water outage, along with a Senior Citizen Housing Complex at 400 Millington Avenue and Frederick Elementary School.
BGE crews are on the scene capping the gas line. Once that is completed, DPW will continue repairs on the water line and continue to update our citizens.
