Baltimore City Department of Public Works (DPW) Director Rudolph S. Chow, P.E., reminds citizens that Labor Day is a City holiday. DPW offices and yards will be CLOSED.  

Ashburton Tanks Construction to Impact Traffic

The next phase of the construction of underground drinking water tanks at Lake Ashburton will include periodic impacts to traffic on Liberty Heights Avenue and North Hilton Street.

It’s Dam Jam Time! Saturday, Aug. 24

Join Mayor Bernard C. “Jack” Young at the Baltimore City Department of Public Works’ (DPW) Dam Jam!, a free, fun-filled festival to celebrate the City’s drinking water and its reservoirs. The Dam Jam celebration takes place Saturday, Aug. 24, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at beautiful Lake Montebello. 

Downpour Leads to Sewer Overflows

The major storms of Thursday, August 22, caused a sewer overflow of almost 7.8 million gallons of storm water mixed with sewer water.

Increased Traffic Flow Continues at Howard/Pratt Street Worksite

Traffic is fully restored along Pratt Street, and two northbound and two southbound lanes on Howard Street are now open, marking the progress that the Baltimore City Department of Public Works (DPW) and its partners are making on the intersection’s complex infrastructure repairs.  

Water Main Upgrades Set for Area Around Poe Homes Complex

Several water mains around the Poe Homes Complex, just west of downtown, will be replaced with larger pipes, or rehabilitated, in the coming weeks.
