April 30, 2013 (Baltimore, MD) — Public Works Director, Alfred H. Foxx announced today that Big Truck Day is back for another year! This FREE event will be held Saturday, May 11, 2013 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the Baltimore Museum of Industry grounds, 1415 Key Highway. Big trucks, big vehicles, giveaways, fun games, food trucks and more, are the highlight of this annual event for kids, both big and small. Limited free parking is available.
 
“Big Truck Day gets bigger every year,” says DPW Director, Alfred H. Foxx. “We are excited about displaying the vehicles that provide key services to Baltimore residents for the public to explore and enjoy.”
 
Big Truck Day gives attendees the opportunity to learn, see, touch, sit in, sound the sirens and honk the horns on some of the biggest vehicles in the City government’s fleet from the Public Works, General Services, Fire, Police and Transportation agencies. Vehicles on display will include “Big Bertha” the City’s largest Tow Truck along with Fire Engines and Trucks, Police Cars and Motorcycles, Load-packers, Bucket Trucks, Rescue Vehicles and a BIG Fireboat – that will perform a massive water display. Baltimore Police Explorers will assist with the event. Also, onsite this year will be the Enoch Pratt Free Library Bookmobile and the Waterfront Partnership Kids Play Area.
 
For Big Truck Day only, the museum’s admission costs are reduced to $2 for visitors ages 13 and up, and FREE for kids 12 and under. While parking is available, attendees are encouraged to take the free Charm City Circulator (Big Truck Day partner) to the event.
