DPW Announces Clean Your Files Day Totals Recycling event collections up from 2012

BALTIMORE, MD (May 24, 2013) – Public Works Director Alfred H. Foxx announced today that participants in this year’s “Clean Your Files Day” increased their collections over last year. In 2012, 17,000 lbs. of recyclable material was collected. This year participating partners generated an additional one ton, for a total of 19,000 lbs. of recyclables!
Director Foxx noted, “Baltimore City recycles and we make it easy to do so. This event is another important part of our Drive to 35 campaign to increase Baltimore’s recycling rate to 35%. Our Clean Your Files Day partners have shown a commitment to not only this one-day event, but to year-round recycling.”
Participating organizations included the American Heart Association, Business Volunteers Unlimited Maryland, Friends of Patterson Park, the Southeast Community Development Corporation, Trinity Baptist Church, the Baltimore City Community Action Partnership and various City of Baltimore agencies.
