Sept. 30, 2014 (BALTIMORE, MD) — Rudolph S. Chow, P.E., Director of the Baltimore City Department of Public Works (DPW), announced the formation of a Stormwater Advisory Committee to advise the DPW on stormwater projects, programs, and issues. The DPW is looking for people who are interested in serving on the Committee, and taking applications through October 20.

The Committee will be active on multiple issues. This committee will discuss topics such as the MS4 annual report, rules and regulations, proposed State legislation, education around stormwater, workforce development, budget decisions, and adaptive management. Recommendations made by the Committee will be considered in making decisions regarding stormwater projects. Additionally, it will serve to educate stakeholder groups on the stormwater process and programs in place.

“I hope that with the input of this group we will create a process that is fiscally transparent, has the support of the wider community, and benefits a range of groups in the city – in short, a better program,” said Director Chow.

The Director’s invitation letter and nomination form can be found at www.cleanwaterbaltimore.org – click on “Stormwater Advisory Committee Application” on the home page.

Representatives from the following stakeholder sectors will make up the Advisory Committee: Environmental Nonprofit Organizations; Industry Groups; Business and Development Groups; Religious Institutions; Community Development Corporations; Anchor Institutions; Employment Development Organizations; Citizens; Baltimore City Public Schools.
