Application for Qualitative Control Waiver
The City of Baltimore Department of Public Works is accepting public review and comments on this project’s application for a qualitative control waiver.

Project Description: The project has an approximate area of 9.48 acres and is located in the Hawkins Point, Baltimore City and Sollers Point, Baltimore County areas. The project will consist of construction an overhead transmission line across the Patapsco River from the existing BGE Hawkins Point Terminal Station to the existing BGE Sollers Point Terminal Station. Upon completion of the overhead project the existing terminal stations will be removed and restored to open space grass. This project is to update the existing outdated cables that are getting close to their live expectance, this project will also keep the 230 kV loop that surrounds the city connected and provide increased reliability in the area.
The Applicant is requesting a qualitative control waiver in accordance with Article 7, Division II, §23-2 of the City Code. The Applicant has demonstrated that the 9.48 Ac. of the project will return the disturbed area to a predevelopment runoff condition. The applicant will not be required to provide qualitative control controls for 3.69 ac of existing impervious because the entire existing impervious areas will be removed and the proposed impervious area for this project is 0.0 ac.
