Companies interested in gaining a share of the millions of dollars being spent on stormwater and stream restoration projects in Baltimore are invited to attend the second annual Stormwater Construction Opportunities for Contractors Workshop this month. The event will provide contractors, and subcontractors, with information on imminent work opportunities that are being advertised, or will soon be advertised, by the Baltimore City Department of Public Works.

This free event is being held Tuesday, Aug. 15, from 9 a.m. to noon at the Back River Wastewater Treatment Plant Auditorium, 8201 Eastern Avenue. Small businesses, especially minority and women-owned business enterprises, are particularly encouraged to attend.

Stormwater management, stream restoration and repairs, environmental site designs, lot greening projects and more will be discussed. These are all part of DPW’s capital improvement plan to comply with the City’s Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) permit. Pre-qualification requirements for contractors will be among the topics reviewed in the workshop.

Companies interested in learning more are encouraged to reserve a space as soon as possible by emailing dpwoec.eepds@baltimorecity.gov. For more information visit https://www.eventbrite.com/e/the-2nd-annual-stormwater-contractors-workshop-tickets-36423860748
