Application for Variance
The City of Baltimore Department of Public Works is accepting public review and comments on this project’s application for a variance of Stormwater Management.

Project Description: | The project has an approximate limit of disturbance of 6.71 acres and is located adjacent to Green Street Academy. The “new development” project consists of renovating and expanding the existing recreation center, the multi-purpose grass field, and basketball court, building a walking path, playground, and parking lot, and installing stormwater management and landscaping. The Applicant is requesting a variance in accordance with Article 7, Division II, §24-2 of the City Code for approximately 0.26 acres of this project. The Applicant has demonstrated that 4.33 acres of the project will meet water quality and quantity control requirements. The applicant is requesting a variance from providing qualitative control for 0.26ac of impervious surface, including 0.03ac which is unable to be drained to SWM facilities. This variance will allow the applicant to pay a fee-in-lieu for the 0.26 ac. of impervious so that the site will be in compliance with City and State Stormwater Management Regulations.
