Application for Redevelopment Waiver

The City of Baltimore Department of Public Works is accepting public review and comments on this project’s application for a redevelopment waiver. If granted, the project will still need to provide water qualitative controls, per the requirements of the State’s Design Manual.

Project Description: The project has an approximate area of 5.31 acres (0.77 acres are located in the limit of disturbance) and is located along the MLK Boulevard at Howard Street corridor within the ROW. The project will consist of pavement resurfacing, reconfiguration of the MLK Boulevard and W. Chase Street intersection, reconfiguration of the intersection of W. Chase Street and Cathedral Street, reconstruction of landscaped islands, reconstruction of pedestrian ramps for ADA compliance and spot repair of sidewalks, and existing impervious removal.

The Applicant is requesting a redevelopment waiver in accordance with Article 7, §23-7 of the City Code.  The existing impervious area coverage meets the conditions for this waiver.  The project will provide impervious area reduction to fully satisfy the requirements of this waiver for 0.58 ac of this project.
