The City of Baltimore Department of Public Works is accepting public review and comments on this project’s application for a Redevelopment Stormwater Waiver. If granted, the project need not comply with the requirements of the State’s Design Manual for quantity control.

Project Description:  The Leidig Field at Irvington Park site address is 5400 Preakness Way, Baltimore, and the site can be accessed at the intersection of Martingale Ave and India Ave at address 342 Martingale Ave for inspection. The proposed limits of disturbance (LOD) is 5.52 acres.

The project scope includes the demolition of existing pavement, and it includes installation of new sidewalks and re-grading of the existing sports fields. The site consists of 2% existing impervious area, and there is a net increase of 0.12 acres of impervious surfaces. The stormwater management requirements will be met via a rain garden, disconnection of non-rooftop runoff, and sheetflow to a conservation area.

The Applicant is requesting a redevelopment waiver in accordance with Article 7, §23-7 of the City Code.  The existing impervious area coverage meets the conditions for this waiver.  The project will provide fee in lieu to satisfy the requirements of this waiver for 0.04 ac of this project.
