The City of Baltimore Department of Public Works is accepting public review and comments on this project’s application for a redevelopment waiver. If granted, the project will still need to provide water qualitative controls, per the requirements of the State’s Design Manual.

Project Description:    Johns Hopkins University (JHU) proposes demolition of seven townhouses located on 5 W. 29th St. – 19 W. 29th St.  All buildings are vacant and largely unused.  The project has an approximate area of 0.52 acres, and will consist of demolishing the seven townhouses to provide opportunities for future development.  The project includes building demolition and stabilization of open green space.

The Applicant is requesting a redevelopment waiver in accordance with Article 7, §23-7 of the City Code.  The existing impervious area coverage meets the conditions for this waiver.  The project will provide impervious area reduction to satisfy the requirements of this waiver for 0.52 acres of this project.
