Application for Redevelopment Waiver

Replacement of Bridge No. BC4202 Broening Highway over Colgate Creek and Associated Roadway Improvements

The City of Baltimore Department of Public Works is accepting public review and comments on this project’s application for a redevelopment waiver. If granted, the project will still need to provide water qualitative controls, per the requirements of the State’s Design Manual.

Project Description: The project has an approximate area of 5.30 acres and is located on Broening Highway south of Boston Street, extending to Colgate Creek.  The project consists of streetscape improvements, utility improvements and reconstruction of the deteriorated existing bridge over Colgate Creek.

The Applicant is requesting a redevelopment waiver in accordance with Article 7, §23-7 of the City Code.  The existing impervious area coverage meets the conditions for this waiver.  The project will provide stormwater management greening to satisfy the requirements of this waiver for 0.02 ac of this project.  The Applicant will satisfy the remaining water quality controls for this project by payment of fee-in-lieu of on-site stormwater management] for 0.20 ac of this project.
