Application for Redevelopment Waiver: 5814 Hillen Rd Demolition

The City of Baltimore Department of Public Works is accepting public review and comments on this project’s application for a waiver to the Baltimore City Stormwater Management Ordinance 10-277. The applicant must provide stormwater management for the proposed project whether or not the waiver is granted.

Project Description:

The project involves demolition of an existing strip shopping center building. The project area is bounded by Sherwood ave (to the North), Hillen and Belvedere Apartments (to the South), Hillen Road (to the East), and Welbourne Ave (to the West). The project meets the requirements of the 2010 Baltimore City Stormwater Management Ordinance to provide Environmental Site Design to the Maximum Extent Practicable through 50% reduction of existing impervious area.

The Applicant is requesting a redevelopment waiver in accordance with Article 7, §23-7 of the City Code. The existing impervious area coverage meets the conditions for this waiver. The project will provide impervious area reduction to satisfy the requirements of this waiver for 2.7 ac of this project.
