Application for Quantity and Quality Waiver

Owner: Baltimore City Mayor and City Council, 100 N. Holliday St, Baltimore, MD 21202
Project Description: The Baltimore City Department of Public Works is proposing to replace a portion of the aging Southwest Diversion Pressure Sewer in the Fairfield Area. The new portion of the pipeline to be will be rerouted around the existing pipe with connections at Chesapeake Avenue and Potee Street. Streets affected include: Chesapeake Avenue, Shell Road, Sun Street, Frankfurst Avenue, 2nd Street, Baltic Avenue, South Hanover Street and Potee Street.
In order to meet the 2010 Baltimore City Stormwater Management Ordinance requirements for the proposed improvements, waivers for stormwater management water quality and quantity control are requested. The project is a utility pipeline project which will not create any new impervious surfaces. All disturbed areas will be returned to its original condition therefore a water quality waiver is requested. Water quality waivers are requested since the project runoff is captured and conveyed through public storm drain systems into tidal waters.
