Application for Administrative Waiver

The City of Baltimore Department of Public Works is accepting public review and comments on this project’s application for an administrative waiver. If granted, the waiver would allow construction of this project to be governed by the rules and requirements that were in place prior to the Baltimore City Council’s adoption of Ordinance 10-277 on May 4, 2010.

Applicant: Baltimore City Department of Transportation, 7 East Redwood Street, Baltimore, MD 21202.

Project Description: The City of Baltimore Department of Transportation proposes the Reconstruction of North Charles Street, approximately 2,000 feet in length of mill & resurface from 25th Street to 29th Street and approximately 3,300 feet in length from 29th Street to University Parkway of complete reconstruction, which includes, new full depth paving, curbs, sidewalks, street lighting, pedestrian lighting, storm drainage, water main, electrical duct work, pavement marking and signing, traffic signals, and landscaping.

The applicant is requesting an Administrative Waiver to the requirements of the City code which will allow the redevelopment project to be governed by the provisions of Division II, as reflected on May 4, 2009.
The project is eligible for an Administrative Waiver since it received Preliminary Project Approval on or before May 4, 2010.

The Preliminary Project Approval was granted on May 3, 2010.
