Application for Redevelopment Waiver

The City of Baltimore Department of Public Works is accepting public review and comments on this project’s application for a Redevelopment waiver. If granted, the waiver would allow the construction of this project to be governed by the rules and requirements of to Baltimore City’s Ordinance 10-277. The applicant must provide stormwater management for the proposed project whether or not the waiver is granted.

Project Description: The Project Site has an area of 10,713 square feet or 0.22 acres. The applicant is proposing to perform interim demolition to remove the existing concrete and playground equipment to facilitate the new playground that will be constructed on June 15th, 2011. After site demolition, a new playground will be built utilizing the grant funding that was awarded to the Reservoir Hill community by KaBOOM. Based on the existing land use and existing impervious area coverage, this project qualifies as redevelopment.

The Applicant is requesting a Redevelopment Waiver in accordance with Section 23-7(C)(3) of the City Code. The project meets the applicable requirements of implementing environmental site design practices to the maximum extent practicable and reduction of impervious area for a combined area of at least 50% of the site’s existing impervious area within the limits of disturbance.
