SILO POINT PHASE 2
Application for Quantity and Quality Waiver
The City of Baltimore Department of Public Works is accepting public review and comments on this project’s application for quantity and quality waiver. If granted, the waiver would allow construction of this project to be governed by the rules and requirements of Baltimore City’s Ordinance 10-277.
Applicant: The Baltimore Gas and Electric Company, 1699 Leadenhall St, Baltimore, MD 21230
Project Description: The Baltimore Gas and Electric Company is proposing to replace the aging existing underground gas main pipelines with polyethylene (plastic) pipelines along Fort Ave. between Key Highway and Benjamin Street, along Woodall & Stevenson Streets between Fort Ave., Latrobe Park Terrace between Fort Avenue and Jones St, and Key Highway, David Lane between Steuart St. and Clement St. and the following streets between Fort Avenue and Clement Street: Lowman St., Haubert St., Cooksie St., Towson St., Richardson St., and Reynolds St.
In order to meet the 2007 Baltimore City SWM Ordinance requirements for the proposed improvements, waivers for stormwater management water quality and quantity control are requested. The project is a pipeline project which will not create any new impervious surfaces and all disturbed area will be returned to its original condition therefore a water quality waiver is requested. Water quantity waivers are requested since the project runoff is captured and conveyed through public storm drain systems into tidal waters.
