DPW Reports Sanitary Overflow Likely to Exceed 10,000 Gallons

The Baltimore City Department of Public Works is working to stem an ongoing sanitary sewer overflow into Armistead Run, a tributary of Herring Run, near Federal Street in East Baltimore.
At the present rate of 100 gallons a minute, this sanitary sewer overflow is expected to exceed 10,000 gallons.
The stream has been posted with warning signs and cleanup operations will continue until the overflow is contained.
The Maryland Department of the Environment and the Baltimore City Health Department have notified.
