Annual Mitten Tree Ceremony Friday, Dec.9

The Baltimore City Department of Public Works (DPW) will kick-off the 43rd annual Mitten Tree Campaign tomorrow morning, December 9, 2016, with the annual Mitten Tree Ceremony. The event will begin at 11:30 a.m. in the lobby of the Abel Wolman Municipal Building, located at 200 Holliday Street.

DPW Prepares to Launch City’s 43rd Annual Mitten Tree Campaign New Date Set for Kick-Off Ceremony: Friday, Dec. 9; 11:30 a.m.

The Baltimore City Department of Public Works (DPW)  invites area citizens to donate mittens, gloves, hats, and scarves to help make this winter warmer for children in need, as DPW prepares for the start of the 2016 Mitten Tree Campaign.

Water Customers Get More Info with Dec. 2 Portal Opening

The next innovation in billing for customers of Baltimore City Department of Public Works (DPW) is coming Friday, Dec. 2, when the Customer Self-Service Portal is made available to water customers in the City.  With the new, monthly water bills now reaching approximately 200,000 accounts, the portal will allow those customers to view their water usage in hourly increments.

Sanitary Sewer Overflows Stopped

During the evening of Nov. 22, the Baltimore City Department of Public Works (DPW) bypassed a sanitary sewer overflow in the 2400 block of Talbot Road in Windsor Hills.  It is estimated that a break on a century-old sewer main released a total of 10,634 gallons of wastewater/stormwater. 

DPW Director Joins National Association of Clean Water Agencies Board of Directors

Baltimore City Department of Public Works (DPW) Director Rudy S. Chow, P.E., has been appointed to the board of directors of the National Association of Clean Water Agencies (NACWA). NACWA is a nationally-recognized leader in both legislative and regulatory clean water advocacy, and a top technical resource in water quality, water management and ecosystem protection.
