Sanitary Sewer Overflows Stopped

During the evening of Nov. 22, the Baltimore City Department of Public Works (DPW) bypassed a sanitary sewer overflow in the 2400 block of Talbot Road in Windsor Hills.  It is estimated that a break on a century-old sewer main released a total of 10,634 gallons of wastewater/stormwater. 

DPW Director Joins National Association of Clean Water Agencies Board of Directors

NACWA is a nationally-recognized leader in both legislative and regulatory clean water advocacy, and a top technical resource in water quality, water management and ecosystem protection.

DPW Customer Walk-In Center Moves to First Floor of Municipal Building

Chow, P.E., has announced that the agency's Customer Support and Services Walk-In Center has moved to the lobby level of the Abel Wolman Municipal Building, in Room 8. The Abel Wolman Municipal Building is located at 200 Holliday Street, next to City Hall.

DPW Collects Nearly 500 Pounds of Oyster Shells Free Oyster Shell Recycling Offered Year-Around

Oyster shell recycling is off to a bountiful start at the Baltimore City Department of Public Works (DPW)!  Some 482 pounds of oyster shells — 3,500 shells, or just under seven bushels – have been recollected at the Sisson Street convenience center since DPW started offering oyster shell recycling nearly six months ago.
