City Applies Mayor’s Water Bill Discount Starting This Week

 Today, Mayor Brandon M. Scott announced that starting this week, City residents will begin to see a 25 percent discount reflected on their water bills. Mayor Scott first announced the discount following the City’s boil water advisory in early September to compensate residents for being without water and to help cover increased usage costs during the flushing process.

DPW Issues Statement: Continued Compliance at Back River Extension of Consent Order, Reimbursement Agreement

The Back River Wastewater Treatment Plant (Back River) has been in compliance with effluent permit levels for four consecutive months. The extension of the Consent Order and Reimbursement Agreement between the Maryland Department of the Environment (MDE) and the City will allow Maryland Environmental Service (MES) to perform the projects and services necessary to ensure continued compliance at Back River
